Coaches' Classic raises funds for First Aid Squad
SPRINGFIELD--The Soccer Club of Springfield's "First Annual Coaches' Classic" was held on Nov. 24 and helped raise $1,000 for the Springfield First Aid Squad.

The Springfield First Aid Squad is seated in front. The travel
coaches on the right. The recreation coaches on the left
The idea was originally suggested by club trainer Dale Brunton as a "friendly game" between coaches of the travel & recreation departments to entertain the children. The concept eventually evolved into a charity benefit to help out the S.F.A.S. by club president Rich Citrin.
In lieu ofan admission price, the club asked for donations throughout the game as monies were collected by Tyler & Rebecca Citrin, Matt Pacheco, Brandon Bauman, & Andrew Shanes. A contribution by The Soccer Club was also made.
The match was witnessed by several hundred people as the travel coaches defeated those of the recreation department by a score or (3 - 1) with goals scored by Jodi Golin & Vincent Basille of the travel team.
Any further donations on behalf of this event can be sent to P.O. Box 247 Springfield, New Jersey 07081.
