Calls by MONOC* 228 256 242 232 256 309

* - Due to the low number of volunteer members available during the daytime, beginning June 25, 1998, the Springfield First Aid Squad entered into a contract with St. Barnabas Medical Center's EMTAC ambulance company, which was later purchased by MONOC. Starting August 1, 2007, the contract was assumed by Union Emergency Medical Unit.

Every Thursday and Friday, from 6 AM to 6 PM, they send two EMTs to our building and they answer calls on our behalf. They use our equipment, follow our policies and, though the Squad pays for their services, the services they render to our patients remain free. They are a valuable resource to us in keeping our organization going during these times of lower daytime membership but our goal remains to return to having 100% of our calls answered by volunteers. If you can help, please consider joining.

** - Does not include EMS standby at the 2005 PGA Championship, held at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield. Springfield First Aid Squad, along with 27 other volunteer agencies from around the state, provided 134 EMTs covering 6 AM to 8 PM for seven days, plus an additional morning shift for the playoffs that ended the tournament.
